Overview

EBI Recharge Facility (EBI Labs) launched in 2021 with the goal of providing access to specialized instrumentation for advanced research and development. The library of instruments available include LC-MS, GC-MS, HPLC, FTIR, IC, Liquid Handler, and many more.

Onboarding Process

Non-UCB Users Onboarding

Reach out to us with your inquiry by emailing ebi2@berkeley.edu or check Second Lab to see the instruments available at our facility.
We will set up a free 30 minute consultation to discuss how the EBI’s recharge facility can meet your research and business needs. You can reach out via email or through Second Lab to schedule the consultation.
Work with Second lab to complete the necessary paperwork needed for access to our facility and other facilities at UC Berkeley.
Once completed and onboarded in Second Lab, we can schedule training session(s) for you and your team to go over the basics of your selected instrument(s), as well as the access, general rules, and regulations of the lab.
Your first use of an instrument will be supervised by one of our technicians at no additional cost.
Once we have confirmed you or your team member(s) have a good understanding of the instrument operation, you will finally be ready to book your selected instrument whenever you want through Second Lab.

We will set up a free 30 minute consultation to discuss how the EBI’s recharge facility can meet your research needs.
You or your PI will provide us with a chartstring for future invoicing.
You and any other colleagues planning to use the recharge facility will each fill out a Keycard Access Request Form. Once these forms are returned to us and approved, your Cal1Card will give you access to Koshland Hall and the rooms you need.
Additionally, you and your colleagues must register with our 24/7 scheduling site, ebi.skedda.com.
We will then schedule a training session for you and your colleagues to go over the basics of your selected instrument(s), as well as the general rules and regulations of the lab.
Your first use of an instrument will then be supervised by one of our technicians at no additional cost.
Assuming there are no issues, you will finally be ready to book your selected instrument whenever you want.
